The Future For Christ Church
Please click here for details on how to donate and help make desperately needed improvements – Thank you!
Christ Church is looking forward to the future, with the prospect of exciting renovations. Following the sale of the parish Lambert Centre, we plan to provide the facilities we need so that whilst remaining a place of worship, we can also offer the church as a community space with opportunities for local groups to use the church. This vision has led us to two independent but complimentary projects.
Project: The Future for Christ Church
In order to realise Christ Church’s huge potential to become a thriving community hub fit for the C21st, we plan to create flexible spaces for a range of community uses and provide essential amenities in the church building – a kitchen, toilets, an office/meeting room and much needed storage space. This will not only support the mission of the church, it will crucially also help meet the stated and diverse needs of the wider community who would like to make use of this beautiful, spacious and highly accessible building for a range of activities and events. We already have a significant sum allocated from the sale of the Lambert Rooms for this work, however we do not have enough and grant applications are necessary and are in progress. If anyone would like to help us with this please do get in touch.

Project: Discover Christ Church!
Together with the Future for Christ Church improvement works, Discover Christ Church! is a National Lottery Heritage funded community project that aims to explore, restore and celebrate the rich Victorian heritage of the grade 2* listed building of Christ Church in Bradford on Avon.
Discover Christ Church! is an inclusive and intergenerational programme of community activities, workshops and events inspired by the heritage and restoration of Christ Church. We are working very closely with the local schools, BoA youth and Dementia Action Alliance who are just a few of our key local community, contacts. They were also involved in the initial project consultation along with congregation members and others in the community.
Our spire clock has been restored to its former gleaming glory, a new energy efficient and adjustable lighting system has been installed, and in January 2025 the nave walls and important wall paintings will be cleaned and conserved. Biodiversity improvements in the churchyard are ongoing and will make it a better place for both people and wildlife.
